What's this?
This part of the free to play guide / journal covers the first two worlds in the game – stages 1 to 100. You can see what this is all about in the introduction page or in the video below. You can jump to the other parts by using these shortcuts.
Some shortcuts 🙂
World 1: Stages 1-50 (the tutorial)
Just follow what the game tells you
This part of the game is the actual game tutorial so I don’t have anything to say except.. read what the game tells you to and follow the tutorial.
Craft the first weapons and beat the first stages. It’s all super easy for a while.
You will unlock the market in your first energy bar but ignore it for now.
After stage 25 you also unlock the arena – you should use all the tickets you get, even if you lose, just to gather up materials for crafting food.
My progress
I got to stage 35 by using the starting 2 AP bars and the 50 free crystals and I just upgraded 1 sword out of boredom. Any item gives more than the 5 required crystals so everything was easy and smooth so far.
What to craft / use?
If you fail stages, just keep on trying, you are most likely under-leveled – and that makes you miss a lot. Just try it a couple of times before you freak out :).
As you can see, you need crystals to unlock recipes but luckily enough, you start with 50 and that’s enough for your first day.
You don’t need lucky crafts or upgrades up to the end of world 2 – but do craft every new recipe and don’t forget to equip your best gear.
First minor "problems"
I started the character around the middle of the Season 4 but I might not be able to join it since the crystal payment increases with the level and I can’t make much until I unlock better recipes.
At stage 40 I had to craft a few extra chests and necks to get at least 2 stars because I was not having enough defense.
I already have to repeat stages to craft gear but having the sweep makes everything quite simple. I won’t be saving my AP potions for later, I’ll use them whenever I have the time to play.
I did a few more crafts and stage 50 went down first try.
I finished World 1 in just 4 AP bars in half a day.
World 2: Stages 51-100
Not enough minerals! umm crystals 😛
Beating World 1 was fast and simple but I did not have enough crystals to unlock World 2 – so I had to grind some fodder that I could have used to upgrade my gear.
Because I keep leveling up, the arena crystal fee keeps getting higher. I did some quick math and I would have to spend 5 full AP bars to craft 17 Guardian necks to unlock it… So I will just keep pushing stages until I get some more profitable stuff to grind (probably the Black Crow Swords).
If I had 1 NCG, I would have bought one plain War Belt (it gives 25k Crystals for non-stakers) just to avoid crafting gear to generate crystals.
No need for upgrading yet
And that makes sense, since upgrading increases the base stats of the item by +8% to 12% per level. And since the starter items have tiny stats, increasing them for +10% is not really making a difference. But I still upgraded a few items since I had them around.
No need for premium craft yet
Premium crafts are way better but they require way more materials. So far I just did basic crafts and I didn’t even get any amazing rolls on the way.
The swords are really worth the trouble for going premium because the double attack spell is so much stronger than the blow attacks: they do more damage, they have a 3 round cooldown instead of 5 and they have a higher chance to proc. I’ll do some of those, but I am waiting for the stronger recipes.
I managed to join the arena season
I got to unlock the Black Crow swords rather fast so it was a great decision to keep going and join the arena later. I didn’t even lose an extra round of tickets 🙂
I crafted my first premium item
Not because I needed it, but because somehow I had the materials for the premium and not for the basic craft. It’s the Black Crow Armor Fire, unlocked at stage 81.
It didn’t turned out amazing, but it might be a bit better than my old chest.
A bit of bad luck
I crafted 3 Thin Necklaces Earth and they all ended up with just 1 star. I really need the defense there so I will have to keep on fighting behind to farm materials and make a better one.
I also crafted a premium Water Sword and it didn’t turn out great either, so I’ll have to go back to farming for it too.
That will have to wait for another day but it’s quite interesting how much progress I made in just 2 days 🙂
Some more bad luck
I farmed the material for two more Thin Necklaces Earth and I got 1 star for both again. That’s a total of 5 crafts in a row with 1 star.
I tried some more crafts but after 3 bars of energy I didn’t mare any progress.
I did eventually get another spell chest but I was still unable to pass stage 87.
Time to use some food
Since the stage 87 unlock the Solid Belts, it seemed like a good moment to use some food to pass the wall. I also had the stars to try a crystal buff, but I don’t really want to grind any of the gear I have left and it seemed possible with just food. And it worked from the first try!
So I ended day 3 at stage 89 but I’m not stuck at all, just out of energy.
It's getting slower 🙂
I beat stage 90, I made a new belt but even with it I cannot defeat stage 91.
So I spend my 4th day in the game crafting various items, but I got nothing better. I am now at 6 Thin Neck Earth in a row with 1 star :).
If you get lucky, you can run through the stages super fast. If you don’t, no problem, just craft some more :).
The arena is hard
I can barely find someone weak enough to attack, even if I’m fighting behind for 18 points. I guess that not many new players managed to pay the crystal fee. But I’m in top 2000 so far so I will get some NCG, yay!
Day 5 went great!
I’ve been trying to get an attack buff spell on a Guardian ring or on a Black Crow sword and it finally happened. With it I’ve beaten almost first try all the stages from 91 to 100.
